Simply put, this is the quickest and dirtiest way I can explain modes on guitar to you so that you can then start practicing and using them in your playing. I’ve removed all the fluff so that you can use your (probably limited) practice time to do something that actually makes a difference to your playing.
Obviously, there’s a lot more to modes on guitar than what you’ll find in this book (don’t worry, I have written plenty of others on the subject if you have the time), but what I want to give you here is a simple way to think about modes AND start using them immediately—a kind of instant modal gratification, if you will.
Aren’t Modes on Guitar complicated?
Don’t worry, there are no scale patterns to learn, nothing to memorize, nor any complex theory. We’re just going to take a couple of things you probably already know, expand on them, and get you sounding like you know what you’re doing.
