Continuing our series on slightly more advanced open chords, you’ll find plenty of options for probably the first chord you learned: G. There’s a ton of open G chords available, especially of the major variety as in addition to the open G string, we’ve also got 2 octaves worth of Gs at the third fret AND the open B string, which is the major third of G – giving us all sorts of options for major and dominant chords.
Try them out below and see if you can find a use for them as this is one of the best ways of remembering a chord. If you just want to learn them all, press down slightly harder than you normally would as this will activite your muscle memory.
